The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and deliver thy warning! 2 Proclaim the glory of your Lord; 3 And your garments do purify, 4 And stay away from idols. 5 And do not confer favor to acquire more 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 that day will be a harsh day, 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 And sons present by his side. 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 After all that he desires that I should give more; 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 and then he looks [around for new arguments,] 21 Then he frowned and scowled, 22 and in the end he turns his back [on Our message,] and glories in his arrogance, 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 I shall make him suffer the torment of hell. 26 And what knoweth thou that which the Scorching Fire? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 Burning the skins! 29 Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell). 30 We have appointed none but angels as the keepers of the Fire, and We have not made their number but as a trial for the unbelievers so that those who have been endowed with the Book will be convinced and the believers' faith will increase, and neither those who have been endowed with the Book nor the believers will fall into any doubt. As for those in whose hearts there is a sickness as well as the unbelievers, they will say: “What did Allah aim at by this strange parable?” Thus does Allah let whomsoever He pleases to go astray, and directs whomsoever He pleases to the Right Way. And none knows the hosts of your Lord but He. (And Hell has only been mentioned here) that people may take heed. 31
