Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 raised couches, 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
