The Night (Al-Layl)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And rejects the best, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
