And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: Surely you are an unknown people. 62 They said: nay! we have come to thee with that whereof they have been dubitating. 63 And we have come to you with the truth, and we are most surely truthful. 64 so leave with your family some time in the latter part of the night, and walk behind them. Let none of you look back. Go where you are commanded." 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the town came rejoicing. 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 They said: forbade we not thee against the worlds? 70 [Lot] said: "[Take instead] these daughters of mine, if you must do [whatever you intend to do]!" 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 Indeed, it is on a way which still exists. 76 Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed. 77 AND THE DWELLERS of the wooded dales [of Madyan, too,] were inveterate evildoers, 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
