Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe? 30 And We have placed in the earth firm mountains lest it should move away with them, and We placed therein passages for paths, that haply they may be guided. 31 And We have made the heaven a roof, safe, and from the signs thereof they are averters. 32 It is God who has created the night, the day, the Sun, and Moon and has made them swim in a certain orbit. 33 And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth]; so if you die - would they be eternal? 34 Everyone is going to taste death, and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good, and to Us you will be returned. 35 But [thus it is:] whenever they who are bent on denying the truth consider thee, they make thee but a target of their mockery, [saying to one another,] "Is this the one who speaks [so contemptuously] of your gods?" and yet, it is they themselves who, at [every] mention of the Most Gracious, are wont to deny the truth! 36 The human was created of haste. Indeed, I will show you My signs; so do not ask Me to hasten them. 37 They say: "When will this promise come to pass, if ye are telling the truth?" 38 If only the Unbelievers knew (the time) when they will not be able to ward off the fire from their faces, nor yet from their backs, and (when) no help can reach them! 39 Nay, it may come to them all of a sudden and confound them: no power will they have then to avert it, nor will they (then) get respite. 40 Mocked were (many) messenger before thee; But their scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked. 41
