And recall what time thy Lord called unto Musa, saying: go thou unto the wrong-doing people. 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 Moreover, they keep a grave charge [pending] against me, and I fear that they will slay me." 14 God said, "Indeed not; go both of you with Our signs, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]. 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 Let the children of Israel go with us!'" 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 And you commited what you did, and you are ungrateful!" 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 "And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel." 22 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "And what is the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)?" 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 The Pharaoh said to the people around him, "Did you hear that?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 26 Fir'awn said: verily your apostle who hath been sent unto you is mad. 27 [But Moses] went on: "[He of whom I speak is] the Sustainer of the east and the west and of all that is between the two - as you would know]" if you would but use your reason!" 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 He said: What! even if I bring to you something manifest? 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it was white to the beholders. 33
