The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
