۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes, 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 Are we then not to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 for the like of this let the workers work.' 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
