Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 The day on which no soul shall control anything for (another) soul; and the command on that day shall be entirely Allah's. 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
