The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 who guard their privates, 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 And We sent down water from the sky in proper measure, then stored it in the earth; and indeed We are Able to take it away! 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 The tree that grows on Mount Sinai yields oil and seasoning for those who eat. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
