SAY [O Muhammad]: "I am only a warner; and there is no deity whatever save God, the One, who holds absolute sway over all that exists, 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver." 66 Say, "It is great news 67 "From which ye do turn away! 68 "I had no knowledge of the chiefs (angels) on high when they were disputing and discussing (about the creation of Adam). 69 "Only this has been inspired to me, that I am a plain warner." 70 When your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man from clay; 71 and when I give it proper shape and blow My spirit into it, bow down in prostration to him," 72 Then the angels, all of them, prostrated themselves before Adam 73 Except Iblis; he was proud and was, from the beginning, a disbeliever. 74 Allah said: O Iblis! what preventeth thee from prostrating thyself before that which I have created with both my hands? Becomest thou stiff-necked, or art thou of the exalted ones? 75 Said he, 'I am better than he; Thou createdst me of fire, and him Thou createdst of clay.' 76 (Allah) said: "Then get out from here, for verily, you are outcast. 77 And surely My curse is on you to the day of judgment. 78 Satan said: “My Lord, then grant me respite till the Day that they are raised up.” 79 (God) said: "You have the respite 80 “Until the time of the known day.” 81 He (satan) said: 'I swear by Your Might, that I will seduce all of them 82 excepting those Thy servants among them that are sincere.' 83 God said, "This is the truth, I speak only the truth, 84 Most certainly will I fill hell with thee and such of them as shall follow thee, all together!" 85 Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I ask of you no fee for this, and I am no simulating. 86 This is only a warning for mankind. 87 And most certainly you will come to know about it after a time. 88
