The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And who softly release the soul. 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment. 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And then said, "I am your most supreme lord." 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
