The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 Unto an Awful Day, 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 It is a written book. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds. 14 Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 upon couches gazing; 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 a wine tempered with the waters of Tasnim, 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
