The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And no trifle. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
