Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 Toiling, weary, 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 in a Garden on high, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
