Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 Around her neck will be a rope of palm fibre. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
