Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 your ideas are confused. 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
