Nay! By the moon 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Except those on the right side. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 running away from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
