The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
