The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the breath of morning 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
