The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
