The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter 1 who amasses wealth, counting it over, 2 thinking his wealth will render him immortal! 3 By no means. He will be thrown into Hutama. 4 And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is? 5 It is the Fire kindled by Allah, 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 Surely it shall be closed over upon them, 8 in outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
