Say: 'Who will guard you, by night and by day from the Merciful' But no, they turn away from their Lord's remembrance. 42 Or, have they gods who can defend them against Us? They shall not be able to assist themselves, nor shall they be defended from Us. 43 We allowed them and their fathers time to enjoy till the very end of their lives. Do they not see Us advancing into the land, reducing its frontiers? Would they still prevail? 44 Say: "I am warning you by God's command." But the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned. 45 And if a breath of the torment of thy Lord were to touch them, they will say: woe unto us! we have been wrong-doers. 46 We shall set up scales of justice for the Day of Judgment, so that not a soul will be dealt with unjustly in the least, and if there be (no more than) the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it (to account): and enough are We to take account. 47 In the past We granted to Moses and Aaron the criterion (for judgment), and a Light and a Message for those who would do right,- 48 Those who fear their Lord without seeing and who apprehend the Last Day. 49 And this [Qur'an] is a blessed message which We have sent down. Then are you with it unacquainted? 50
