Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
