Nay, and by the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 it is a warning to man, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 about the sinners. 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
