Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 Honorable recorders, 11 Who know what you do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
