The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 And by the Promised Day. 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: 5 As they sat around it 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent – for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 of Pharaoh and of Thamood? 18 And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)! 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
