Do you not see that We have appointed devils to incite those who deny the truth to disobedience? 83 So make no haste against them; We only count out to them a (limited) number (of the days of the life of this world and delay their term so that they may increase in evil and sins). 84 On the Day when We shall gather the Godconscious unto [Us,] the Most Gracious, as honoured guests, 85 and drive the evildoers into Gehenna herding, 86 having no power of intercession, save those who have taken with the All-merciful covenant. 87 And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]." 88 Assuredly ye have brought a thing monstrous. 89 This would almost cause the heavens to rent apart, the earth to cleave asunder and the mountains to crumble down in fragments, 90 Due to their ascribing of an offspring to the Most Gracious. 91 And it behoveth not the Compassionate that he should take a son. 92 There is no one in the heavens and the earth but will come to the Beneficent Allah as a servant. 93 He knows their number and has counted each one of them. 94 And everyone of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or protector or defender). 95 Lo! those who believe and do good works, the Beneficent will appoint for them love. 96 So We have made it easy in thine tongue in order that thou mayest thereby give glad tidings unto the Godfearing and warn thereby a people contentious. 97 And how many have We destroyed before them of generations? Do you perceive of them anyone or hear from them a sound? 98
