The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
