The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And the promised day, 2 and by the witness and what is witnessed: 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 When they were sitting near it 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 They had nothing against them, except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise! 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial 19 Whereas Allah is, from behind them, Encompassing. 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
