Al-Aadeyaat

The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

By the (Steeds) that run, with panting (breath), 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 by the dawnraiders, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 thereby storming [blindly] into any host! 5 Indeed man is very ungrateful towards his Lord. 6 And lo! he is a witness unto that; 7 And violent is he in his love of wealth. 8 ۞ But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered 9 And all what lies in the breasts is opened – 10 Verily, that Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) their Lord will be Well-Acquainted with them (as to their deeds), (and will reward them for their deeds). 11
