Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant. 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." 43 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
