The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 on a fateful Day. 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 and be told: "This is the [very thing] to which you were wont to give the lie!" 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 A written record, 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 Verily, Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil) will be in delight (Paradise). 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete. 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things). 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
