The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sun and his early morning splendour, 1 And by oath of the moon when it follows the sun 2 by the day when it brightens the earth, 3 By the night when it envelopeth it, 4 By the Firmament and its (wonderful) structure; 5 And the earth and Him Who spread it, 6 By the soul, and That which shaped it 7 and how it is imbued with moral failings as well as with consciousness of God! 8 Truly he succeeds that purifies it, 9 And he is indeed a failure who stunteth it. 10 The tribe of Thamud denied with rebellion. 11 when the most wretched of them uprose, 12 Then Allah's Messenger warned them: “Hands off the she-camel and her drink!” 13 But they belied him, and hamstrung her. So their Lord crushed them for their sin and leveled it (their village). 14 And He does not fear its coming behind (to take vengeance). 15
Almighty God's Truth.
