The people of 'Ad accused the messengers of lies. 123 when their brother Hud said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 124 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 125 fear God, then, and obey me. 126 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 127 "Do ye build a landmark on every high place to amuse yourselves? 128 And take ye for yourselves castles that haply ye may abide. 129 and when you strike you strike like tyrants? 130 "Now fear Allah, and obey me. 131 Fear Him who has bestowed on you what you know, 132 Who has provided you with flocks and children 133 gardens, and springs. 134 I fear the punishment of a terrible day for you. 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether you preach or be not of those who preach. 136 “This is nothing but the tradition of former people.” 137 And we are not to be punished." 138 And they belied him; so We destroyed them. Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 140
