Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
