The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
