(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
