Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Compassionate. 2 A Book whose signs have been distinguished as an Arabic Koran for a people having knowledge, 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are encased against that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us, so do as you will and so shall we." 5 Say (unto them O Muhammad): I am only a mortal like you. It is inspired in me that your Allah is One Allah, therefor take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe unto the idolaters, 6 Those who give not the Zakat and they are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 The righteously striving believers will have a never-ending reward". 8
