S (Saad)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Suad, I swear by the Quran, full of admonition. 1 nay, but the unbelievers glory in their schism. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before them, and they [then] called out; but it was not a time for escape. 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 Does he claim that all the deities are [but] one God? Verily, a most strange thing is this!" 5 Their leaders departed, saying, "Walk away! Hold fast to your deities. This is clearly a conspiracy. 6 "We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention! 7 Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! 8 Or do they hold the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, theirs? Then let them climb up the ladders (to the heavens). 10 this host too, among other hosts, is bound to suffer defeat. 11 Before them the people of Noah denied the truth, as did the 'Ad and Pharaoh of the Stakes, 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood; - such were the Confederates. 13 None of them was such that it did not deny the Noble Messengers, therefore My punishment became inevitable. 14
