Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In the high empyrean, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 and arranged cushions 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
