The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 and weigh with the straight balance, 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 But in case you are speaking the truth, then make a segment of the sky to fall upon us." 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
