The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He hath created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
