I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 by the retreating night, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 a warning to humankind, 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
