Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
