The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
