And indeed We sent Moses with Our signs and with a clear authority 96 to Pharaoh and his Council; but they followed Pharaoh's command, and Pharaoh's command was not right-minded. 97 He shall lead his people on the resurrection day, and bring them down to the fire; and evil the place to which they are brought. 98 They are condemned in this world and in the life to come. Evil is the gift and the recipient! 99 That is of the tidings of the cities We relate to thee; some of them are standing and some stubble. 100 We did not wrong them; it is rather they who wronged themselves. And when the command of your Lord came to pass, the gods besides Allah whom they had called upon, did not avail them in the least. They added nothing to them except ruin. 101 Such is the seizing of your Lord, when He seizes the evildoing villages. His seizing is painful, stern. 102 Indeed in this is a sign for one who fears the punishment of the Hereafter; this is the day on which everyone will be gathered, and this is the Day of Attendance. 103 And We delay it only for a term (already) fixed. 104 When that Day arrives no soul shall speak except by His permission. Some shall be wretched, and others happy. 105 Those who are wretched shall be in the Fire: There will be for them therein (nothing but) the heaving of sighs and sobs: 106 [They will be] abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord should will. Indeed, your Lord is an effecter of what He intends. 107 ۞ And as for those who will be glad (that day) they will be in the Garden, abiding there so long as the heavens and the earth endure save for that which thy Lord willeth: a gift unfailing. 108 So be thou not in doubt concerning what these men serve; they serve only as their fathers served before; and We shall surely pay them in full their portion undiminished. 109
