S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Saad* – By oath of the renowned Qur’an, (Alphabet of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed afore them, and they cried when there was not time of fleeing. 3 They are surprised that a warner should come to them from among themselves. They say, "This is a magician, a great liar. 4 Has he made the gods [only] one God? Indeed, this is a curious thing." 5 And their leaders launch forth [thus]: "Go ahead, and hold steadfastly onto your deities: this, behold, is the only thing to do! 6 We have not heard of this in the last religion; this is surely an invention. 7 “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or is it that they have the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the great Giver? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, theirs? Then let them climb up the ladders (to the heavens). 10 They will be one more army vanquished among the many routed hordes. 11 The people of Noah, Ad and the dominating Pharaoh had rejected Our revelations. 12 So also did the people of Thamud, Lot, and the dwellers of the Forest. 13 Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). 14
