Say, [Prophet], "I am only a warner. There is no god but God, the One, the All-Powerful, 65 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Almighty, the All-Forgiving!" 66 Say, "This is momentous news, 67 Ye are therefrom averting. 68 I have no knowledge of the dispute among the angels (concerning their attitude towards Adam). 69 'Only this has been revealed to me: that I am to give warning plainly and publicly." 70 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 and when I have formed him fully and breathed My spirit into him, prostrate yourselves before him." 72 The angels fell down prostrate, every one, 73 But not Iblis: he was proud and he was one of the unbelievers. 74 Allah said: O Iblis! what preventeth thee from prostrating thyself before that which I have created with both my hands? Becomest thou stiff-necked, or art thou of the exalted ones? 75 He said, "I am better than him. You have created me from fire and him out of clay". 76 "Begone! You are accursed: 77 'My curse shall rest on you until the Day of Recompense' 78 He said: "O Lord, give me respite till the day the dead rise from their graves." 79 Allah said: verily, thou art of those respited. 80 till the Appointed Day." 81 (Iblis) said: "Then, by Thy power, I will put them all in the wrong, 82 excepting those Thy servants among them that are sincere.' 83 He (i.e. Allah) said: “This is the Truth -- and I only speak the Truth -- 84 I will certainly fill the Gehenna with you and with all those among them who follow you.” 85 (Muhammad), say, "I do not ask any reward for my preaching to you for I am not a pretender. 86 "This is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds. 87 And ye will come in time to know the truth thereof. 88
