Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
